This chapter describes the detailed console operation. It can be applied to either out-of-band console management
or in-band Telnet management. Both are the same in operation starting from the login prompt.
Direct Console Management
When you see the self-test messages shown on the screen properly, you can press <Enter> to start the console
login operation. Go to the Login Prompt section below.
Telnet Management
Use Telnet software to perform the management operation. The most convenient solution is using the built-in
Telnet function in a Windows 95/98/ or NT PC. Enter into the DOS window and invoke the following Telnet
command to connect to the system unit:
>telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
The specified xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the system unit. A welcome message and login prompt are
displayed if the connection is established properly.
Login Prompt
The following figure illustrates the login screen:
------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to Console
login:admin
password:***
------------------------------------------------------
Username: admin
Factory default Password: 123
For security reason, the system supports a function to change the pass- word in setup menu. It is recommended to
change the default password immediately after a successful login.
